Goat milk body products are perfect for people with sensitive skin. Goat milk has a pH level very close to that of human skin making it a naturally gentle skincare ingredient. Goat milk also contains natural l-Lactic acid rather than a synthetic replacement (see Bright, Smooth Skin), which acts more readily as a stabilizer contributing to the gentle pH level.
Goat milk is a natural exfoliant. It contains alpha hydroxy acids, including l-lactic acid, which break down the bonds between dead skin cells allowing them to be gently removed, without the addition of harsh chemicals. This allows dead skin to be easily sloughed off to reveal brighter, smoother skin.
The milk fat (cream) in goat milk is extremely moisturizing even compared to other milk soaps due to its smaller milk globule size making it more readily absorbable than a larger particle size. In addition, goat milk naturally contains glycerin, an excellent moisturizer that is often added (in synthetic forms) to many skincare products.
Goat milk is loaded with vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, and antioxidants that our skin needs. Goat milk also contains a high concentration of short and medium strand proteins allowing it to be more easily absorbed into the skin than their long-strand counterparts. And because goat milk can penetrate the surface layer of our skin, it is a great way to deliver these essential nutrients to the deeper layers of our skin.
Goat milk is rich with antioxidants such as Vitamins A, C and E. These antioxidants help prevent skin damage caused by free radicals, delaying the signs of aging. They also help reduce the signs of premature aging like fine lines, wrinkles and discoloration.
The proteins found in goat milk have excellent anti-microbial properties, which kills acne-causing bacteria found on your skin, as well as help prevents future growth.
With its strong moisturizing properties, goat milk has been shown to provide relief to skin irritations like eczema, psoriasis, windburn, sunburn and excessively dry skin. The fat molecules present in goat milk have natural anti-inflammatory properties.
